Overview
Isleta Elementary School - Student Life
The Isleta Elementary School student’s life comprises a well-rounded elementary education that prepares students for entry into middle school, high school, and beyond by providing diverse learning opportunities, events, and activities throughout each school year.
Student Development
Early involvement in our student life activities can develop students into problem solvers, critical thinkers, and Tribal leaders. As students participate in the Isleta Elementary School community, they develop leadership skills, discover new talents, benefit from teamwork, and value community service. Student life includes personal growth, guidance, and development through regular appointments with a guidance counselor. Our sixth graders must take a special etiquette class during their transition. This type of etiquette will be put to the test at a fine-dining restaurant.
Digital Literacy
Isleta Elementary School student life includes a diverse education that prepares students for the next level. Students will attend digital literacy training for online activities. Understanding internet usage and etiquette will be increasingly important as students finish their education and enter the workforce.
Native Language and the Arts
Isleta Elementary School provides cultural education, including our Tiwa language program. Students engage with their Native language and culture in classes taught by specialists. Student life offers introductions to the arts and entertainment through partnerships with the New Mexico Philharmonic’s young musician initiative. We also have events like Space Night, held by the New Mexico Space Museum.
Student Clubs
There is a wide variety of activities, on and off campus, that enhance Isleta Elementary School student life. Most importantly, students are offered the chance to join clubs that match their personal interests, talents, and curiosities. Special clubs include computer coding, weaving, sports, and much more. Student life at Isleta Elementary is full of education, excitement, and growth for all students.
