Health Services
Health Services at Isleta Elementary School
At Isleta Elementary School, we work closely with the Pueblo of Isleta Health Center to keep our students healthy. We want to ensure students receive the care they need to do their best in school. Our partnership with the health center enables us to provide a range of health services tailored to meet the needs of our school community.
When necessary, the school will provide students with a referral to the health center for the following services:
- Medical care: Medical examinations, routine laboratory studies, immunizations, x-ray procedures and skin tests.
- Dental care: Dental examinations, preventive use of fluorides and emergency dental care.
- Mental health: Assessments, evaluations, treatment, crisis support and emergency services.
- Emergency services*: Accidents or illnesses requiring immediate treatment.
- Counseling referral: The school will release the completed counseling referral form to the Pueblo of Isleta Health Center for counseling referral purposes only.
* In the event of an emergency, Emergency Medical Technicians are called and will administer first aid and possibly transport your child for medical or mental health care. The parent or other emergency contact will be notified as soon as possible.
Additionally, the school offers transportation assistance for medical/mental health appointments or emergency services.
Health Education
We educate our students on important health topics. Our educational programs cover a range of subjects, including diabetes awareness, head lice prevention, nutrition, hygiene, healthy lifestyle choices, and understanding puberty.
